Imagine if you were chosen by the president of the United States to visit the White House. You would be filled with honor, pride, and confidence.
Chosen. It’s amazing how that one little word, chosen, can bring such strong feelings.
I remember vividly what it felt like not be be chosen in gym class. To sit on the bleachers and wait until all the athletic and popular kids were chosen first. To sit and be chosen last. Again and again. It’s painful. It’s easy to start believing the lies you are worthless, rejected, unwanted.
I also have felt the wonder of being chosen. To have a handsome, godly, amazing man bend down on his knee and ask my hand in marriage. He presented me with a stunning diamond ring to remind me of my beauty and worth in his eyes. To be chosen brings the feelings of joy, acceptance, worth, and value.
In between the childhood moments of not being chosen and the glorious moment of being chosen as a future wife was the journey of discovering that I was chosen by God.
“For we know, brothers and sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you” I Thessalonians 1:4.
Did you hear that? Dear sister, you are loved by God and He has chosen you! In the journey of discovering I was chosen by God, He awoke my heart to the awe of this glorious truth.
God our Abba Father knows the rejection and hurts we have felt in our life. He desires to bring healing and wholeness to our hearts with this powerful truth. We are chosen by God!
I love this definition of chosen “having been selected as the best“. God looks upon you with love and He selects you as the best!
How does the truth we are chosen by God affect our daily life?
1. It brings healing from hurt and rejection in your life.
2. It gives us confidence as we go throughout our day. We are chosen by God!
3. God completes our life so we do not need to look elsewhere for acceptance.
4. You are known. God sees you, loves you, and has chosen you for Himself.
5. You are free to fail because God has already chosen you and sees you as His best.
