Grace’s First Birthday!
Our baby grew up fast! Grace started walking at nine months and hasn’t slowed down since! Grace LOVES to read books and is talking up a little storm. We often find Grace copying Mama and Dada as she sweeps the floor, puts toys away, and talks on the phone. Every day there is a new word or something new that Grace is discovering. It’s such a fun age!
A few months ago, Grace celebrated her first birthday. I planned a giraffe theme party and created a photo book filled with pictures from Grace’s first year of life. Friends and church family came out to celebrate Grace. There were many little friends running around with that day. Here are some of my favorite pictures and memories.
We had the party at our friend’s house. Their twin girls love Grace! They played with Grace while I set up for the party.
The decorations! Pink giraffe!
Wendy, a dear lady in our church, made the two large giraffes. Isn’t she talented? Ever since the birthday party, Grace has been saying “giraffe” and pointing to the giraffes.
Stephen made some amazing hamburger and we enjoyed a cookout in the backyard. The kids ran around and played together. It was a perfect summer evening!
My favorite part of the party was when it was time for cake! We set Grace on the floor and sang happy birthday. Grace dug right into her birthday cake. All of Grace’s little friends were gathered around her and the cake. I told them to help Grace out and soon they were all digging in. Little mouths and hands covered in cake and frosting!
And then it was time for presents!
We stayed late into the evening, talking and connecting around a bonfire. We loved celebrating Grace being surrounded by good friends.
